Chestnuts, wine, and Palazzo Farnese... a great day out this Saturday

Regular readers will already know, I love Caprarola, the small comune near Viterbo, in northern Lazio. I don't need any excuse to go there. To see beautiful Palazzo Farnese, combined with a trip to lago di Vico, or simply to walk the streets and go to my favorite agriturismo.

That's why I was so happy when I found out about the Castagne e Vino event in Caprarola this coming Saturday. Starting at 3pm, Tuscia Doc, in collaboration with the Comune di Caprarola are giving free guided visits to Palazzo Farnese with free roasted chestnuts and a glass of local wine. The only cost is the entrance ticket to Palazzo Farnese itself, a hardly wallet-busting €5.

Click on this link for more information about the visit (in Italian), or e-mail to reserve a place.

Oh, and if you go to the Agriturismo, tell them Pete sent you! ;-)

I am busy catching up yet again this time after the olive harvest! I would definitely back your recommendation and am disappointed we did not get to go ourselves.
